A Little Glimpse of Catch Up

The first day we got to Queenstown I was just taken aback by how beautiful of scenery it was. Such a beautiful lake right there. And the mountain backdrop is gorgeous too. We went on this thing called the Shotover Jet, which was pretty much a ginormous jetski that has room for about 15 people. They take you on this super fast jetski ride through this canyon and he goes super super close to the rocks so that it looks like you’re going to hit it. It really feels like you’re going to hit and then the boat just barely misses. And then when there’s an opening of water, he spins the boat. It was so awesome! It was Dr. Jacobs favourite thing of our whole trip. Then we went to this little town called Arrowtown that was next to this little stream/river. It was one of the Lord of the Rings sights, so we pretended to act out this scene from Lord of the rings on the rocks of the river, and I was recording it, and Steph dropped her camera in the water in the middle of the scene. But it ended up being okay, just a little blurrier. We also had lunch there, and I found this adorable little bakery that sold these delicious butter chicken pies. Butter chicken is so good! Monique bought it for us-it’s an Indian dish. I forget when the days changed, so I’ll just say what happened next. So next, we went on the gondola which is like a little ski-lift that takes you to overlook Queenstown. It was so beautiful. At the top of the gondola, they have this thing called the Louge. You have these little go-cart things that you ride down on different tracks down the mountain. We got five rides each. It was really fun-I tried to go the fastest possible (without crashing of course) and I did pretty good on our race. Except for Lauren passed me—she was so fast! We got really really yummy ice cream at this little parlor right by the dock. I took Steph a cup because she didn’t wanna come and went straight to the hotel room. The hotel in Queenstown I have to tell you was awesome.
